The Good Girl’s Guide to Getting Kidnapped

Yxta Maya Murray, 2010. Fifteen-year-old Michelle straddles two worlds – her comfortable foster home with a doctor for her guardian, and her old life as Princess P in a family of gangsters. Now Michelle is applying to private school and lettering in track, but she still has feelings for her old boyfriend Silver. When Silver and the gang kidnap Michelle and her best friend, she saves them using skills she’s learned on both sides of the track. The story is exciting and the voice is fresh and funny. Oh yeah, Michelle’s foster dad is gay, and it’s not a big deal.
